CalcWorks operates getcalcworks.com. This page explains, in plain language, what information is and is not collected when you use this site, how advertising cookies work here, and the choices you have. Questions about this policy: email hello@getcalcworks.com.
The calculators collect nothing
Every calculator on CalcWorks runs entirely in your own web browser. The numbers you type are never transmitted to us, stored by us, or shared — there is no account, no sign-up and no form on the calculator pages. You can verify this by loading a page and using it with your connection switched off.
The Project List stays in your browser
If you use the optional Project List, the items you add are stored only in your own browser's local storage, on your device, so the list is still there when you move between calculator pages and when you come back later. Local storage is a browser storage feature; it is not a cookie, and CalcWorks itself sets no cookies for the calculators or the Project List. The list is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. Clearing the list — or clearing your browser's site data — deletes it permanently.
What is collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) keeps standard server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps — for security and operations, and provides us with aggregate, anonymous statistics about visits (for example, which calculators are popular and roughly which country a visit came from). These tell us that a page was visited, never what you entered into it, and they are not used to identify you personally.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store. This site does not set its own cookies. The only cookies that may be set in connection with this site are advertising cookies set by Google and other third-party ad vendors when ads are displayed, as described in the next section. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the calculators and the Project List work identically with cookies disabled.
Advertising, Google AdSense and your choices
CalcWorks is free to use and is supported by advertising served by Google AdSense. The disclosures in this section are the ones Google requires of sites that show its ads:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's previous visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies — including the DoubleClick cookie — to serve ads on this site. Advertising cookies may also be used to limit how often you see the same ad and to measure ad performance.
- We have not opted out of third-party ad serving, so other third-party vendors and ad networks — including Google-certified ad networks — may also use cookies to serve ads on this site.

Opting out of personalized advertising
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You may opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info, or by visiting the individual vendor's or ad network's own website and using the opt-out it offers.
- You can also block or clear cookies in your browser settings at any time.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message provided through a Google-certified consent management platform will ask for your consent before personalized advertising cookies are used. If you do not consent, any ads shown will be non-personalized.
We do not sell personal information
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. The only data flows connected with this site are the hosting logs and aggregate statistics described above, and the advertising cookies described in the advertising section when ads are running.
If you email us, we receive your address and message solely to reply. We do not sell, rent or share email addresses, and we do not run a mailing list.
Children
This site is a tool for construction and home projects. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
